Stored XSS via unescaped angle parameter
Published Aug 2, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in bnielsen Custom Word Cloud 0.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the angle parameter. The plugin accepts the angle shortcode or form value without sufficient input sanitization and emits the stored value without context-appropriate output escaping when an injected page is rendered. Contributor-level access or higher is required, and the script executes in the browsers of users who open the affected page under its WordPress origin.
