Task hijacking via default Android task affinity
Published Jul 28, 2025 · Updated Jul 28, 2025
Task hijacking in Cool Mo Maigcal Number App 1.0.0 through 1.0.3 allows local users to display a phishing activity. AndroidManifest.xml leaves taskAffinity at its package-name default, so a malicious app can claim com.sdmagic.number and place its activity at the root of the shared task. Exploitation requires an installed malicious app and user interaction; launching the victim app then exposes entered data or permission prompts to the malicious activity.
