CVE-2025-8213Network attack vector

Arbitrary file deletion via unvalidated quarantine paths

Published Jul 31, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Absolute path traversal in NinTechNet NinjaScanner 3.2.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server files. The nscan_ajax_quarantine and nscan_quarantine_select handlers accept file paths without restricting quarantine actions to scanner-flagged files. Administrator-level access is required, but deletion can reach files outside the WordPress root and interrupt or compromise the hosted site.
