Authenticated code execution via unvalidated photo upload
Published Jul 26, 2025 · Updated Jul 28, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in Code Projects Voting System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP via a candidate photo. The candidates_add.php handler passes the client-supplied photo filename to move_uploaded_file and stores it under the web-accessible images path without validating its type. Administrative access is required; a PHP upload can then be requested as a web shell to execute commands on the server.
