CVE-2025-8170Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unbounded serverIp copy

Published Jul 25, 2025 · Updated Jul 28, 2025

Buffer overflow in the MQTT packet handler in TOTOLINK T6 4.1.5cu.748_B20211015 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The tcpcheck_net function uses sprintf to copy serverIp into a 128-byte buffer without checking its length. Low-privilege network access to the MQTT or HTTP service is required; an overflow can overwrite the saved return address and run code.
