CVE-2025-8169Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated service interrupt via unbounded curTime formatting

Published Jul 25, 2025 · Updated Jul 28, 2025

Buffer overflow in D-Link DIR-513 1.10 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt router service through a crafted HTTP POST request. The PPTP POST handler passes an unbounded curTime value to sprintf while constructing a URL in a stack buffer. Low-privilege management access is required; the public artifact demonstrates service interruption but does not demonstrate its claimed shell-access outcome.
