Authenticated command execution via unchecked timeZone copy
Published Jul 25, 2025 · Updated Jul 25, 2025
Buffer overflow in AC20 httpd 16.03.08.12 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via a crafted timeZone value. The SetSysTimeCfg handler copies the timeZone parameter into a fixed-size s_1 array without validating its length when timeType is sync. Access to the router management interface is required; exploitation can crash httpd or run attacker-supplied MIPS code on the appliance.
