CVE-2025-8132Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated arbitrary file deletion via path traversal

Published Jul 25, 2025 · Updated Jul 25, 2025

Path traversal in ChanCMS 3.1.0 through 3.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to delete files via a crafted pathname. The delfile function in app/extend/utils.js passes an unvalidated caller-controlled pathname to filesystem deletion operations, allowing traversal outside the intended directory. Low-privileged authenticated access is required, and successful exploitation can remove application-accessible files and interrupt service.
