CVE-2025-8131Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unchecked route list

Published Jul 25, 2025 · Updated Jul 25, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC20 16.03.08.05 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted list parameter. The /bin/httpd handler passes the unchecked list value through save_staticroute_data to sscanf, which writes beyond a stack buffer and permits return-address control. Access to the network management endpoint and low privileges are required; successful exploitation runs code, while an oversized request can instead crash the service.
