CVE-2025-8095Network attack vector

Stored-secret recovery via reversible prefix encoding

Published Apr 14, 2026 · Updated Apr 14, 2026

Weak secret protection in OpenEdge 12.2.0 through 12.2.18 and 12.8.0 through 12.8.9 allows attackers to recover secrets from stored OECH1 values. The OECH1 prefix encoding uses reversible obfuscation rather than cryptographic protection suitable for stored administrative passwords and configuration values. Exploitation requires access to an OECH1-encoded value; recovered credentials can expose the systems and services protected by that secret.
