CVE-2025-8090

Kernel crash via MsgRegisterEvent null dereference

Published Jan 13, 2026 · Updated Jan 13, 2026

Null pointer dereference in QNX Neutrino on SDP 7.0 and 7.1 allows local users with code execution to crash the kernel. The MsgRegisterEvent() system call reaches a null pointer dereference; BlackBerry has not disclosed the triggering argument or failed validation. Reachability requires local access and arbitrary code execution, and the consequence is limited to a kernel crash; affected safety and medical releases contain the same kernel flaw.
