Arbitrary code execution via ADS path traversal

Path traversal in RARLAB WinRAR 7.12 and earlier allows attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted RAR archive. During extraction, WinRAR accepts parent-directory segments embedded in NTFS alternate data stream names and writes hidden files outside the chosen destination. A victim must open or extract the archive; attackers can place a shortcut in the Startup folder and a payload in a user-writable directory for execution at login.
