Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped placeholder_img
Published Jan 28, 2026 · Updated Jan 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Target Video Easy Publish 3.8.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via placeholder_img. The BridShortcode.php shortcode handler places the stored placeholder_img value into generated page markup without adequate sanitization or context-aware output escaping. Contributor-level access is required, and the injected JavaScript runs in the browser of any user who opens the affected page, enabling page-content changes or browser-accessible data exposure.
