Authenticated content deletion via missing capability check
Published Jul 31, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Incorrect authorization in HT Mega Addons for Elementor 2.9.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete site content. The ajax_trash_templates function fails to verify a capability before processing attachment and post identifiers, deleting attachment files and trashing posts, pages, or templates. Contributor-level access is sufficient; exploitation permanently removes selected attachment files and removes chosen site content from publication.
