User-assisted code execution via unescaped carriage return
Published Jul 22, 2025 · Updated Apr 13, 2026
Command injection in Firefox before 141 and Thunderbird before 141 allows attackers to run code through a pasted Copy as cURL command. DevTools Netmonitor's Windows curl serializer escapes CRLF and LF line endings but leaves a bare carriage return from a request body unescaped. A user must inspect the attacker-influenced request, select Copy as cURL for Windows, and paste the result into Command Prompt, where injected text runs with that user's privileges.
