Code execution via freed LI parser object
Published Sep 17, 2025 · Updated Sep 17, 2025
Use-after-free in Ashlar-Vellum Cobalt 1204.91 allows attackers to execute code when a crafted LI file is opened. The LI parser performs operations on an object without first verifying that the object still exists, dereferencing freed memory. A user must visit a malicious page or open the file, and successful exploitation runs code in the Cobalt process context.
