Code execution via uninitialized AR parser variable

Use of an uninitialized variable in Ashlar-Vellum Cobalt 1204.96 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted AR file. The AR file parser accesses memory without first initializing the associated variable, and the undefined state permits code execution in the current process. Exploitation requires a user to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, and the resulting code runs with that process's privileges.
