CVE-2025-7972

Driver configuration tampering via disabled token validation

Published Aug 14, 2025 · Updated Aug 14, 2025

Authorization bypass in FactoryTalk Linx before 6.50 allows local users to create, update, or delete FTLinx drivers. The Network Browser trusts the mutable process.env.NODE_ENV value and disables FTSP token validation when that value is set to development. Exploitation requires local control of that process value and permits unauthorized alteration or deletion of communications-driver configuration.
