Unauthenticated account takeover via client-supplied 2FA codes
Published Aug 28, 2025 · Updated Aug 28, 2025
Authentication bypass in RingCentral Communications Plugin – FREE 1.5 through 1.6.8 allows remote attackers to log in as any user. The ringcentral_admin_login_2fa_verify() function compares two requester-controlled POST fields instead of checking a server-persisted SMS code. No credentials are required; identical bogus values satisfy the check and grant the selected account's WordPress privileges.
