CVE-2025-7951Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via unencoded chat message output

Published Jul 22, 2025 · Updated Jul 22, 2025

Stored XSS in Code Projects Public Chat Room 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts in other users' browsers via chat posts. The chat rendering logic reads stored chat_msg and your_name values from the database and inserts them into HTML without output encoding. An attacker must sign in and another user must view the stored conversation; the script then acts within that viewer's session context.
