Credential theft via default Android task affinity
Published Jul 21, 2025 · Updated Jul 23, 2025
Task hijacking in Genshin Albedo Cat House App 1.0.2 allows local users to display a phishing activity over the legitimate app. AndroidManifest.xml retains the default package-name task affinity, allowing a malicious singleTask activity with the same affinity to occupy the victim task stack's root. Exploitation requires installation and use of a malicious app before the victim app is opened, enabling credential theft or deceptive permission requests.
