Firmware replacement via unsigned PDBA table redirection

Published Sep 19, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Signature verification bypass in Supermicro MBD-X12STW BMC firmware 01.06.17 allows remote authenticated users to replace system firmware. A customized RoT 1.0 PDBA table redirects verification to a fake table stored in the image's unsigned region. High-privilege BMC access is required, and successful exploitation permits attacker-controlled firmware affecting confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
