Task hijacking in IDnow VideoIdent Android app versions 9.0 through 9.6.0 allows local users to steal sensitive data through phishing. AndroidManifest.xml leaves taskAffinity at the de.idnow package default, allowing a malicious singleTask activity with the same affinity to occupy the task root and appear when the legitimate app opens. Exploitation requires installation and execution of a malicious app on Android before 11; the displayed impostor can capture entered information or induce permission grants.
