Conditional code execution via shortcode deserialization
Published Oct 3, 2025 · Updated Oct 3, 2025
Object injection in WP Tools Schema Plugin 4.3.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to instantiate PHP objects via a shortcode. The wpt_schema_breadcrumbs shortcode deserializes untrusted shortcode input, causing PHP to instantiate an attacker-selected object. Contributor access is required, and file deletion, data disclosure, or code execution occurs only when another installed plugin or theme supplies a usable POP chain.
