Authenticated code execution via unchecked password copy
Published Jul 17, 2025 · Updated Jul 17, 2025
Buffer overflow in Tenda FH451 1.0.0.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute code or crash the router via a crafted PPW value. The fromWizardHandle handler passes the POST-supplied PPW value to decodePwd, whose byte-by-byte copy into a fixed-size stack array performs no bounds check. Access to the web management handler with low privileges is required; an oversized value can corrupt the stack, interrupt service, or redirect execution in the router process.
