Adjacent privilege escalation via cleartext hotspot authentication
Published Sep 16, 2025 · Updated Sep 16, 2025
Cleartext transmission in Dolusoft Omaspot before 12.09.2025 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to intercept hotspot credentials. The external captive-portal integration directs network devices and guest browsers to the HTTP endpoint auth.omaspot.com while disabling HTTPS redirection. A position on the hotspot network is required to observe or alter the exchange and use captured authentication data to gain privileges.
