Subscriber-to-Administrator takeover via unchecked email update
Published Sep 10, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Privilege escalation in Resideo Plugin 2.5.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to take over administrator accounts. The user-details update path accepts a caller-selected account and changes its email address without validating the requester's identity. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to replace an administrator's email, initiate a password reset, and obtain that account's privileges.
