CVE-2025-7705

Unauthorized entry via factory compatibility mode

Published Jul 22, 2025 · Updated Jul 22, 2025

Authentication bypass in all versions of ABB 83330 and 83330-500 switch actuators allows physically proximate attackers to unlock entrances. Factory compatibility mode remains enabled because production does not reconfigure the actuator, bypassing the normal door-opening authorization state. Exploitation requires physical access to the device in a building with multiple entrances and grants unauthorized entry to the premises.
