Administrator account takeover via unauthorized reset link
Published Jul 24, 2025 · Updated Jul 24, 2025
Missing authorization in AlexaCRM DataPress 2.77 through 2.81 allows remote authenticated users to hijack administrator accounts. The reset_password_link handler accepts a client-supplied user ID, email, or login and calls get_password_reset_key() without verifying ownership or edit authority. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to obtain an administrator's live reset link and assume that account.
