CVE-2025-7656Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Heap corruption via incorrect veneer instruction count

Published Jul 15, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Integer overflow in V8 in Google Chrome before 138.0.7204.157 allows remote attackers to corrupt heap memory through a crafted HTML page. ARM64 code-generation paths pass an incorrect instruction count to InstructionAccurateScope, letting veneer-distance accounting overflow after the scope ends. A user must open attacker-controlled HTML that drives V8's Maglev JIT; resulting heap corruption can crash the browser or enable code execution in its process.
