Stored script execution via unsafe shortcode attributes
Published Oct 11, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Easy Plugin Stats 2.0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in visitors' browsers via the eps shortcode. The shortcode accepts user-supplied attributes without sufficient sanitization and renders them without adequate output escaping, preserving attacker-controlled script in page content. Contributor-level access is required, and the stored script executes whenever a user visits the injected page.
