Unauthenticated account takeover via unchecked order ID
Published Aug 23, 2025 · Updated Aug 25, 2025
Authentication bypass in Simpler Checkout 0.7.0 through 1.1.9 allows remote attackers to log in as another user via an order ID. The simplerwc_woocommerce_order_created() function sets WordPress authentication for the order's user without verifying the requester's identity. No account is required; administrator access results only when the referenced order belongs to an administrator, such as a site test order.
