Arbitrary file deletion via encoded backslash traversal
Published Jul 14, 2025 · Updated Jul 14, 2025
Path traversal in kkFileViewOfficeEdit through commit 5fbc57c48e8fe6c1b91e0e7995e2d59615f37abd allows remote authenticated users to delete files. The deleteFile method strips only forward-slash prefixes from the fileName parameter, allowing URL-encoded backslash traversal to escape the intended directory. Low-privilege access to /deleteFile is required; successful requests delete chosen server files, impairing integrity and availability.
