Traffic interception via predictable handshake keys
Published Sep 12, 2025 · Updated Sep 12, 2025
Authentication bypass in Silicon Labs Wi-SUN Stack 2.6.0 allows physically proximate attackers to intercept and alter network traffic. The border-router authenticator installs predictable keys when it processes unexpected packets during the four-way handshake. An attacker within sub-GHz radio range needs no credentials or user interaction and can use the predictable keys to position between peers, read protected traffic, and modify it in transit.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
