CVE-2025-7433

Local privilege escalation via untrusted deserialization

Published Jul 17, 2025 · Updated Jul 17, 2025

Deserialization flaw in Sophos Central Device Encryption before 2025.1 allows local users to execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges. Sophos identifies the Device Encryption component and CWE-502 but does not disclose the serialized input, parsing locus, or validation failure. Exploitation requires an existing low-privileged local account on a Windows endpoint and grants code execution across the component's security boundary.
