Administrator-level stored XSS via unescaped plugin slug
Published Jul 18, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in ajay Knowledge Base 2.3.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the plugin slug setting. The setting handler stores the plugin-slug value without sufficient sanitization and renders it without output escaping, preserving injected markup. Administrator access and either multisite mode or disabled unfiltered_html are required; injected scripts run when a user opens an affected page.
