Authenticated service crash via unchecked stack copy
Published Jul 10, 2025 · Updated Jul 11, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda O3V2 1.0.0.12(3880) allows remote authenticated users to crash the device via a crafted destIP value. The httpd fromPingResultGet function copies the unchecked destIP parameter from POST /goform/setPing into a stack-local buffer, overwriting the return address. Access to the web administration session is required; the demonstrated consequence is persistent loss of router services, while the report also asserts control-flow hijacking.
