Authenticated code execution via unchecked time copy
Published Jul 10, 2025 · Updated Jul 11, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda O3V2 1.0.0.12(3880) allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted time value. The fromSysToolTime function copies the time parameter into a stack buffer without checking its length, allowing it to overwrite the return address. An administrative session cookie is required; the published proof of concept demonstrates a persistent service crash, while return-address control supports code execution.
