Admin binary execution via unchecked unrar path
Published Jul 24, 2025 · Updated Jul 25, 2025
OS command injection in Calibre-Web 0.6.24 and Autocaliweb 0.7.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute server binaries. The ajaxconfig handler stores config_rarfile_location, and check_unrar passes the unchecked path through process_wait to subprocess.Popen. Exploitation requires an administrator session; the selected binary receives no arguments, but its default action can alter data or reboot the host.
