Unauthenticated file deletion via unsanitized AJAX identifier
Published Jul 15, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Arbitrary file deletion in HT Plugins HT Contact Form 2.2.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete server files via AJAX. The Ajax::temp_file_delete() handler passes ht_form_file_id to FileManager::temp_file_delete(), which appends it to the temporary-upload directory and calls unlink() without constraining the resulting path. No authentication is required; traversal sequences can target writable files outside that directory, and deleting wp-config.php can enable site takeover.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
