Code execution via unchecked CGM buffer read
Published Jul 21, 2025 · Updated Jul 22, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in IrfanView CADImage Plugin 4.70.0.0 allows context-dependent attackers to execute code via a crafted CGM file. The CGM parser fails to validate user-supplied data before reading beyond an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open the file, and successful execution runs in the current process context.
