Code execution via unchecked DWG buffer read
Published Jul 21, 2025 · Updated Jul 23, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in the CADImage Plugin for IrfanView 4.70.0.0 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted DWG file. The DWG parser fails to validate user-supplied data against the allocated buffer boundary, causing a read past the buffer's end. Exploitation requires a user to visit a malicious page or open the file, after which code runs in the context of the IrfanView process.
