Code execution via DXF parser out-of-bounds write
Published Jul 21, 2025 · Updated Jul 22, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in the CADImage Plugin in IrfanView 4.70.0.0 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted DXF file. The DXF parser fails to validate user-supplied data before writing it, allowing the write to pass the end of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires a user to visit a malicious page or open the file, and successful execution runs in the current IrfanView process.
