Code execution via CGM parser out-of-bounds write
Published Jul 21, 2025 · Updated Jul 23, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in the IrfanView CADImage Plugin 4.70.0.0 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted CGM file. The CGM parser fails to validate user-supplied data before writing to an allocated buffer, permitting a write past the buffer's end. Exploitation requires the target to open the file or visit a malicious page, and code runs in the IrfanView process context.
