Code execution via unchecked PM3 parser write
Published Jul 21, 2025 · Updated Jul 22, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in INVT VT-Designer 2.1.13 allows remote attackers to execute code by supplying a crafted PM3 project file. The PM3 parser fails to validate user-controlled data before writing into an allocated data structure, allowing a write past its end. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open the file, after which code runs in the context of the current process.
