CVE-2025-7215Public exploit

Wi-Fi credential disclosure via plaintext configuration

Published Jul 9, 2025 · Updated Jul 9, 2025

Cleartext credential storage in FNKvision FNK-GU2 40.1.0 through 40.1.7 allows physically proximate attackers to read Wi-Fi credentials. The firmware writes the configured Wi-Fi SSID and password in plaintext to /rom/wpa_supplicant0.conf, which the device's root account can read. Physical disassembly, a serial adapter, and access through the exposed UART root shell are required; the consequence is disclosure of the configured Wi-Fi network name and password.
