CVE-2025-7208Public exploit

Memory disclosure or crash via short ASN.1 values

Published Jul 9, 2025 · Updated Jul 9, 2025

Heap buffer over-read in Plan 9 from User Space 9da5b44 allows attackers to expose memory or crash code that dumps crafted ASN.1 values. The edump function in src/libsec/port/x509.c unconditionally reads bytes zero and one from decoded octet strings and big integers without checking their lengths. Reachability requires crafted ASN.1 data to reach asn1dump; the over-read can print adjacent heap bytes or terminate the calling process.
