Authenticated code execution via unvalidated photo upload
Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Jul 9, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in Code Projects Library Management System 2.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted photo. The student_edit_photo.php handler accepts an executable PHP filename, forged MIME type, and PHP content without validation, then stores the file in a web-accessible executable path. A valid backend session is required; invoking the uploaded web shell permits operating-system commands and file access.
