CVE-2025-71400Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Authenticated passkey deletion via unscoped identifier query

Published Aug 2, 2026 · Updated Aug 2, 2026

Authorization bypass in Better Auth Passkey Plugin before 1.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to delete other users' passkeys by ID. The delete-passkey endpoint uses ctx.body.id as the sole deletion-query filter and fails to constrain the record by the authenticated session's user ID. Any valid session reaches the endpoint; useNumberId deployments expose sequential identifiers, enabling enumeration that removes credentials and interrupts passkey-based account access.
