Code execution via undetected cProfile.runctx reduce call
Published Jun 21, 2026 · Updated Jun 21, 2026
Protection bypass in Matthieu Maitre picklescan before 0.0.30 allows attackers to execute code through a crafted pickle file. A pickle reduce method names cProfile.runctx, but the scanner fails to classify that executable global as dangerous and reports the payload as safe. Code runs only after a user or application trusts the clean result and deserializes the file with pickle.load(), under that process's privileges.
